How long have you been building homes?

Sevieri Builders has been building homes since 1985.  Duane Sevieri has grown up in the building industry, and worked for major building contractors during the early 80’s before working for his father, who also learned from his father (Duane’s Grandfather). He is always continuing his education through study, seminars, and classes regarding energy efficiency, structural developments, and best use concepts for design. The combination of modern techniques and old school craftsmanship give Duane the ability to create the Modern Country model.

Are you a licensed contractor?

Yes. Sevieri Builders is a licensed contractor and we require all of the necessary insurance documentation and licensing from our sub contractors as well.

How long does it take to build a home?

In most cases, we can build a home within 6-12 months from the foundation up and after site work. Considerations include location, access etc. For example: We have built on remote islands and areas where access by road or bridge did not exist. However, the majority of our projects are completed within one year from foundation>forward.

Do you have floor plans?

Yes, hundreds of them as Duane is one of the original founders of Sevieri and Company located in Anacortes, WA.  Sevieri and Company, owned by Duane’s parents, Bill and Kaylene Sevieri, has been an independent Lindal Cedar Homes distributor for almost 20 years and has provided custom log home and conventional plans and packages for nearly 30 years, therefore acquiring hundreds of plans. Most of our clients already know what they want and dream of, therefore most of our designs are based upon their wishes and are customized through good design and build by Sevieri Builders.  

At Sevieri Builders, we do our own design. Duane builds in his mind as he draws, utilizing the latest technologies, including AutoCad™ by AutoDesk™. This ability has enabled streamlined efficiency during the permitting and building process. Plans are easily plotted, changes can be made at any time and digital copies forwarded, thus saving time and gas which equals money. Most of all, our designation as a design – builder, provides you, our client, with unlimited flexibility.

What types of homes do you build/have you built?

Sevieri Builders diverse experience includes traditional Northwest Cedar Homes, Log Homes and Modern Country Homes (Hybrid). Combinations of timber, metal, stone, glass, prescriptive path designs and structurally engineered paths are all components of our hybrid signature Northwest design, which has become our specialty and provides us with the exciting privilege of creating the one of a kind structure for our clients.
Where (geographically) do you build?
We build in the Puget Sound-Olympic Peninsula areas of Washington State which includes, Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Whidbey Island, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands.  Sevieri Builders has built homes in these locations as well as Snohomish and elsewhere.

What is your pricing policy? How much are your homes per square foot?

We are flexible; however we commonly utilize three different methods for pricing.
  1. Fee plus Costs: Sevieri Builders will work with you as a partner. We charge a set fee plus 10% of the “cost of the work.”  You shop, price and compare right along side Sevieri Builders. You become the sharp penciled staff for your project. You have the ability to change, modify and have full control of your project. It’s actually quite simple – there are no hidden costs. Our books are open and you are provided with a copy of each third party invoice.
  2. Fixed Price:  We work within your stated budget to provide you with a  Sevieri Builders product, whether it be a new home, remodel, sunroom, addition, etc., as long as the scope of the work with regards to the start, finish and expectations in between are definable.
  3. Fixed Price with Allowances: We provide a fixed price for the “knowns” and allowances for the “unknowns.” With this approach not all choices need to be final. Often with construction loans, this type of pricing makes the most sense. However, Sevieri Builders would caution that a tight budget can be strained via change orders, upgrades, etc… and that every effort should be made during design and contract to allow adequate funds with respect to the scope and theme of the project.

Do you get the building permits?

Yes. Our critical path network includes municipal officials, quality minded professionals such as engineers, geotechs and many other feasibility specialists required for permit procurement. A huge advantage for Sevieri Builders is the ability to send and receive electronic drawings and reports, saving time and money during the compilation of required documents and tests for a submission ready permit package. At the time of submission, Sevieri Builders is very familiar with all aspects of your project.

Do you have a warranty?

Our warranty is industry standard. We continue to be available to our past clients even decades later for upgrades, maintenance, and other services at in house prices.
